Weeks 1-6: Desconéctate

Theme: Local area, holiday and travel

Pupils will revise and develop key vocabulary related to holidays and weather as well as structures encountered during KS3. As well as using the present simple and preterite, they will formally study the imperfect tense for the first time.

Weeks 7-12: Mi vida en el insti

Theme: School

Pupils will revise and develop key vocabulary related to school, describing facilities, rules, subjects and teachers. They will practise extending and justifying opinions and will revise forming the near future tense.

Weeks 13-18: Mi gente

Theme: Identity and Culture

Pupils will talk about socialising and family and practise adjectival agreements in a range of tenses so far encountered. They will study the present continuous tense, ser and estar and will practise understanding more detailed descriptions.

Weeks 19-24: Intereses e influencias

Theme: Identity and culture

Pupils will revise freetime activities, practise using stem-changing verbs and say what they usually do with the verb soler. The will also learn the perfect tense and discuss what inspires them.

Theme: Local area, holidays and travel; identity and culture

Pupils will talk about places in a town and shops, practising transactions with the conditional tense and making plans with the future tense. They will revise clothes and demonstratives as well as look at the geography of Spain.

Topics or grammar which need to be reinforced will be looked at. We will also look at specific exam skills required for Year 11 and pupils will sit a mock exam in all four skills.
