Weeks 1 to 6: Mis vacaciones

In this unit, pupils learn to talk about holidays, use the preterite of –ar,-er,-ir verbs and ir, ser and give a presentation on their summer holidays. They also learn to use different tenses in the same piece of writing and finmd out more about holiday destinations in Spain and the Hispanic world.

Weeks 7 to 12: Todo Sobre mi Vida

In this unit, pupils learn about saying what kind of music and TV they like, saying what they use their phone for, what they did yesterday and look at young people’s lives in other countries. They also revise present tense formation.

Weeks 13 to 18: ¡A comer!

In this unit, pupils learn to describe what food they like and mealtimes, incorporate opinions and negatives, order a meal, use the polite usted/ustedes form, discuss what to buy for a party, use the near future and give an account of a party. They will also learn to use three tenses together in a text.

Weeks 19 to 24: ¿Qué hacemos?

In this unit, pupils wil revise using the conditional, practise making excuses and the verbs querer, poder, discuss getting ready to go out and daily routine using reflexive verbs, talk about clothes, use demonstratives, discuss sports events and describe a fancy dress outfit. Again they will practise using several tenses in a piece of work.

In this unit, pupils learn to describe a holiday home and typical activities, make comparisons with the comparative and superlative forms, ask for directions, form the imperative, describe a world trip and tackle challenging listening extracts.

They focus on challenging texts (aural and written) will be further practised as pupils prepare to discuss holiday destinations and conduct research into an aspect of Spanish or Hispanic life.
